Perth based. A Senior
Exploration Geologist is needed to advance exploration efforts in a major new project that
will provide a good mix of office and field work. The position reports directly to
the Exploration Manager and requires over 5 years of industry experience. The project has strong potential to become a world class mine with JORC
resources in excess of 50 million tonnes and resource targets of a further 100 million
tonnes. The project also has one of WA's most exciting copper deposits with recent
RC drilling intersecting over 50 metres of continuous mineralisation above 1.5% Cu.
The main focus will be the supervision and management of
field crews with other duties including implementation and management of exploration
programs (Auger, AC, RC, DD), field mapping, interpretation and modelling of exploration
results, QA/QC, assisting in preparation of reports and budgets. The successful
candidate should be experience din Micromine and Mapinfo and preferably experienced with
iron ore, mineral sands or manganese.
This role is to be offered as a permanent staff position
(with 3 months probation) with an attractive remuneration package and the offer of a
generous employee option scheme. The role will involve field work on a campaign
basis.
The Project Geologist position will be responsible for hands
on supervision of site exploration activities during campaign field programs and
supervising contractors, field assistants and drilling crews.
